Vaiaso o le Matematika

This morning we did a Math quiz about Keira's family. It was kind of hard. We were learning about counting and every time we got a question right we won $20. I won $100. That means I got five questions right. I felt nervous. After we marked eachothers work, we went to Ms. Tafa to get our money. We sat in a circle and Ms. Tafa asked us how much money we won. Then we had to look for how many $20 and $10 notes to take to make our prize. I chose one $50, two $5, four $10. It was fun. Here are some pictures of us showing our prize money. Yaaay...=)

Topic - Cultures from the 7 continents of the world

Aotearoa - Maori Culture

Matariki

Kalama -During week 2 and 3 we have been learning about Maori Culture.
We made some poi's to celebrate Matariki. We sang Maori songs. We even used our poi to dance to 'E rere taku poi' song. We are learning to make our poi for our Maori song. Matariki is the Maori New Year. We have also been learning how to sing 'Hareruia'. Ortymestorm is our lead singer. Here is a link to the version that we have been practising - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3g0jONaro58&list=PLACj7o6dVfMN2CzQtiDvm9zhXQBa4Fq-m&index=1

Joseph - We used our poi to dance to the music. If you want to make a poi you should use paper, plastic bag and a rope. The Maori name for New Zealand is 'AOTEAROA'. Matariki is about the stars in the sky.

Habitat Diorama

Rooooar - chiiiirrrp - tweeet,

To celebrate the end of our topic "Our Planet, Our World, Our Responsibility" we have been creating our Habitat Diorama's. We had 3 weeks to complete our project and practise our presentations. We had to chose 1 animal and do a lot of research on its natural habitat. With the amazing help of our families we were able to complete the most spectacular Habitat Diorama's and even share with our peers cool facts about our animals. Miss. Tafa is very proud of us all and we are so excited to find out who will win Term 1's project. Mrs. Taua and Whaea Alofa were our judges this term. Have a look at our pictures and feel free to ask us any questions about our projects..... =)
